Alcohol is a drug that is found in beer, wine, and liquor. It slows down the mind and the body. Some people think it helps them have more fun. The truth is, it works exactly the opposite way.

* It changes your mood. Some people who drink too much get silly, angry mean, or sad.

* It gets in the way of clear thinking. It makes it hard to remember and make good decisions.

It hurts the body. The eyes don't focus well. Standing and walking straight is hard. Breathing and heart rate slow down. Speaking clearly is difficult.
