Exercising and playing sports keep your muscles and bones strong and healthy. But muscles and bones may get hurt when you exercise.

Always stretch to get your muscles ready for faster exercises. This will help keep your muscles from getting hurt. Play different games and sports that use different muscles. Then you won't strain muscles by using them over and over again. After a day of activity, give your muscles and bones a good rest. Sleeping 10 to 12 hours each night will give your muscles and bones the time they need to rest and grow.

Safety Equipment

For some activities and sports you need to wear or use special equipment to stay safe. Safety equipment keeps your muscles, bones, and other parts of your body from getting hurt. Mats protect gymnasts. Shin guards protect soccer players. Bike helmets protect bike riders.
