By using timely topics and activities to introduce concepts and teach corresponding skills, the Staying Healthy series updates and enriches your health curriculum. Students can spend at least two to four weeks engaged in lesson and enrichment activities. The following plan can serve as an instructional guide. Activities might culminate in a school health fair.
Before students begin any activities, have them read, discuss, and respond to material in the book.
Grouping: Unit and lesson openers in Staying Healthy are designed for whole-class instruction. Follow-up activities allow students to work collaboratively in small groups or independently.
See pages 4--7 of this guide for specific lesson ideas.
