Once upon a time, there was a man named Orion. He was a great hunter. One day, while Orion was chasing a bear, he was stung by a scorpion and died. The gods were all very sad. They liked Orion so much that they decided to put him in the sky as a constellation.
The gods also put the scorpion in the sky as a constellation. However, they put the scorpion at the other end of the sky so that it could never sting Orion again.

In ancient times, people did not know why the stars seemed to move in the sky. They did not have scientific answers. So they made up stories to explain things. These stories are called myths. One of these myths is the story of the constellation Orion. A constellation is a group of stars named for a person, an animal, or an object.
