High Sounds And Low Sounds.(Brief Article)
When something vibrates slowly, it makes a low sound. Scientists say it has a low pitch. When something vibrates quickly, it has a high sound, or a high pitch.
You can play high or low sounds on a guitar. If you want to play a high sound, you press your fingers on the guitar strings close to the bridge. This makes the strings shorter. The strings vibrate quickly, so you hear a higher sound. If you want to play lower sounds you press your fingers on the strings near the neck of the guitar. The strings are longer, so they vibrate slowly. Now you can hear lower sounds.
Pitch is one of the properties of sound.
