In a recent review of the literature on the efficacy of postcoital hormonal contraception (PCHC), Louise Silvestre, Yasmina Bouali and Andre Ulmann reanalyzed the data from all previous studies of PCHC that had a sample of at least 500 women. (1) Five of these 10 studies involved treatment with high doses of estrogen; the other five involved a newer treatment with combined estrogen-progestin (CEP) preparations (see Table 1). (2)
