Closing the Door to Intolerance

Our Nov. 5 story on Islamist groups living in Europe drew an angry response from readers critical of the continent's loose asylum laws. "It seems easier to get into Britain or Germany by claiming asylum than with work visas," wrote one reader. Another declared that radical organizations "are tolerated, even protected, by European countries under cover of human rights." Calling for a tougher stance, one reader encouraged the United States to "take action against terrorism. The time for tolerance is over.
