This report represents a collaborative effort between The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) and colleagues from a broad range of organizations and institutions worldwide. We are grateful for their guidance and assistance. Susheela Singh, associate director of research at AGI, directed the research, and Deirdre Wulf, an independent consultant, wrote this report. Both were assisted by Jacqueline Darroch Forrest, senior vice president and vice president for research, and David Landry; senior research associate. Dote Hollander, associate editor, and Jeanette Johnson, acting director of publications, edited the text.
