EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. _ John Abraham, the Jets' second-year defensive end, is rapidly becoming one of the NFL's sack specialists. Matt Light, New England's rookie left tackle, is quickly earning a reputation as an excellent run blocker.
The two young players with the opposite strengths will meet head-on Sunday when New England (6-5) visits the Jets (7-3) at Giants Stadium. The result of their confrontation could go a long way toward determining which team wins.
Abraham got the better of Light in the first meeting between the teams in September. He had six tackles, one sack, and forced a fumble and recovered a fumble as the Jets won, 10-3.
"For us to be successful, I'm going to have to play better than I did the last time we faced them," Light says.
