PHILADELPHIA _ The Rose Bowl? Disney World? The White House?
Sir, no sir! Instead of those more desirable winners' destinations, Army's victory over Navy on Saturday earned it an all-expenses paid trip to a unique BCS _ Bolstering Citizens' Safety.
It starts with a road game. At Afghanistan.
"On that field we're enemies," said Army junior linebacker Mike Lennox of Fort Worth, Texas, "but we all realize we're going to be fighting on the same side for the same cause. Underneath our uniforms, we're all wearing the same red, white and blue."
As always for this treasured tradition, Veterans Stadium overflowed with dignitaries, goose bumps and tears. In front of a record 69,708 fans, including President George W. Bush, taunting between the farm systems intent on keeping America's Team world champions was as scarce as NFL scouts and hair mousse.
