Redshirt freshman quarterback Chris Rix and an inspired defensive front brimming with underclassmen sent FSU fans home feeling good about the future.
Rix overcame a halftime deficit by firing for one touchdown pass and spinning his way for another to lead FSU to a 28-17 victory over Georgia Tech. The victory assured Gator Bowl-bound FSU (7-4, 6-2) second place in the ACC behind Maryland, and ended a two-game losing streak.
