BLACKSBURG, Va. _ A rose is a rose is a rose. So even though Miami's 26-24 win over Virginia Tech lacked style points Saturday afternoon, the Hurricanes weren't complaining.

No.1 Miami's win was its slightest of the season, and the Hurricanes downgraded themselves to a tropical depression in the fourth quarter. Miami let a 26-10 lead evaporate in the final 12 minutes, and the game would have likely been headed for overtime had a Virginia Tech receiver not dropped a simple two-point conversion pass late in the game.
