BEREA, Ohio _ Foge Fazio knows a simple truth about professional football in the zeroes.
"You're only as good as your last game," he said last week.
Which means that right now, Fazio is riding high. The Browns' defense is coming off its first shutout since the team's return in 1999, and it leads the NFL in interceptions with 25.
Fazio has been around too long to gloat, though.
"We played like crap against Cincinnati the first time, and against the Steelers, we weren't worth a damn," he said. "You want to crawl in a hole and hide."
No need for Coach Foge to play chipmunk. He might want to stand up and be noticed. At his first news conference after Butch Davis hired him as defensive coordinator back in February, someone asked Fazio if he was up to the job at age 62.
"I can cartwheel out of here if you'd like me to show you," he snapped.
