CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ Jerry Stackhouse hit a three-pointer with the 24-second shot clock running down and 16 seconds remaining, helping the Detroit Pistons to a 110-105 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night at the Charlotte Coliseum.
The Hornets had scrambled after trailing by 14 in the third quarter and had moved into the lead by slight margins as the final minutes approached. But another Stackhouse three-pointer, this one with 3 minutes, 45 seconds to play, gave the Pistons a 98-96 lead. Charlotte tied the game twice more but never led from that point on.
