Brunei: Bids received for New Open Areas.

The Petroleum Unit, Office of the Prime Minister, has received bids for two Offshore Deep Water Blocks within Brunei Exclusive Economic Zone from two separate consortiums made up of international and multi-national companies.

This was stated in a press release issued by the Petroleum Unit yesterday.

The closing date for the submission of the bids was November 1, 2001.

The New Open Areas, which was launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah January 29, 2001, underlines the importance of using local resources that are available.
