Jakarta, Nov 28 (ANTARA) - A Golkar Party leader asserted here Wednesday that the allegation on the corruption of 40 percent of the general allocation fund (DAU) by provincial governments is an engineering aimed at foiling the implementation of regional autonomy.

"The allegation obviously has a tendency to foil the implementation of regional autonomy, with a view to restoring the centralized system," said Slamet Effendy Yusuf, vice chairman of the Golkar faction of the House of Representatives.

According to him, should any provincial government corrupt 40 percent of the fund, it would certainly not be able to pay the salary of civil servants in its payroll. …
