KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (bernama) -- Sime Darby Bhd has received a proposal from IOI Corporation Bhd on how to maintain the listing status of Palmco Holding Bhd, and will be making a counter offer soon.

"I am waiting for a suitable time to contact Tan Sri Lee (Shin Cheng) to make that counter offer," said Sime chief executive Tan Sri Nik Mohamed Yaacob at a press briefing on the conglomerate's first quarter result.

He said that he was awaiting "the right time" to personally call Lee to convey Sime Darby's counter-offer.

He hoped to contact Lee before the end of the week.
