2001 DEC 6 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- InSightec Image Guided Treatment, Ltd., has received approval of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to commence Phase III clinical testing for the treatment of breast tumors (fibroadenoma). This is the final phase of clinical testing that, when and if successfully passed, will form the basis for authorization for the commercialization of the product in the United States.
InSightec is engaged in the development of noninvasive treatment of malignant and benign tumors. The system is based on high-frequency ultrasound (HIFUS) guided magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
