Oshman's Sporting Goods' eighth annual Grants for Girls awarded $120,000 in 20 cities nationwide, including $22,500 in Albuquerque.
Local recipients were Roosevelt Middle School Girls' Outdoor Sports, St. Thomas Aquinas School Girls Athletes, Albuquerque Crush Girls Volleyball Club, Gators AYSO U12 Girls Soccer Team, New Mexico Attack Girls Basketball Team and New Mexico Tempest Girls Softball Team.
The award winners were announced at special ceremonies with elite athletes and special guests as part of an annual day celebrating women's sports achievements.
Sam's Club donated $1,000 to the Literacy Center of Albuquerque, which provides free services …
