The minute Katie walked in the door, her mother could see that something was wrong.

"What's the matter, honey?" she asked.

"Oh, Mom, my head hurts," 10-year-old Katie complained as she plopped into a chair.

After taking Katie's temperature, her mother reached into the medicine cabinet for something that would make Katie's headache go away (a painkiller). The label said that someone Katie's age and size should take just one tablet. The label also said that she should take the tablet after eating, so Katie's mother insisted that she have some toast. Katie wasn't hungry, but she managed to eat most of the toast anyway. After she took the tablet and rested for a while, her headache went away.
