One night, when Taylor was in her room, she heard the phone ring. Ten minutes later, her father knocked on her bedroom door.

"Taylor," he said as he gently opened the door, "can I come in?" Taylor was lying on her bed with her back to the door. Her father came in and sat down beside her.

"That was your mother. Your sister is doing fine."

On Saturday, Taylor's older sister got into a car accident because she had been drinking alcohol. Today, she is going to a place for people who have a problem with drinking too much alcohol. She is there to get help.

Taylor slowly turned toward her father. She was upset. "Why did this happen?" asked Taylor.

"Your sister has a kind of illness, and she needs some help getting better."

"I just wish I could have done more to help her. Maybe I could have stopped her from drinking alcohol."
