JAKARTA, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Pressure is mounting for the People's Representatives Council (DPR) to form a special committee to investigate its Speaker Akbar Tandjung for alleged embezzlement of Rp40 billion (RM18 million) from the State Logistic Agency (Bulog) fund.

At least four factions in the lower House of Parliament had so far indicated their willingness to support the proposals for the committee's establishment.

The call also came from several law-makers including those from President Megawati Sukarnoputri's Indonesian Democractic Party-Struggle (PDI) which controls 150 seats, the largest representation in the 500-seat parliament.
