Kandenko Co. Ltd. has developed a cooling system for transformers and ultrahigh voltage underground power transmission cables that is designed to prevent the adhesion of calcium scales on piping and equipment.
The new cooling system is based on reverse osmosis treatment in which the F/T treatment system for the raw supplementary water is purified with an RO membrane, and the B/T treatment system for purifying the blow water with an RO membrane then reutilising it as supplementary water.
With most existing power generation equipment cooling systems, the adhesion of scales on piping and equipment, due to the vaporisation, scattering and concentration of cooling water is prevented by the disposing of this water and adding new water.
