The Japanese government's policy to significantly increase the sources of new energy (that is not conventional, long established sources and methods), is well worth noting for it indicates just where the biggest realtime expansions of new energy are destined to take place up to 2010. New energy is spelt out in very specific terms as listed below. It does not include all the many technological advances made in power generation and supply which will contribute to more efficient, cleaner, healthier and environmentally provisions and usage of power in the conventional fuels, power generation plants and distribution systems taking place, unevenly but to some degree positively in the same time period to 2010.
Given, that Japan, especially in domestic housing per annum utilisation of energy, is on a different (lower), level from North America (US = 2.5 times higher), and most of Europe (Germany / France/ and UK = 1.8-1.9 times higher), and that factor has to be borne in mind, the government's decisions operated through a host of ministries, agencies, and designated private sector companies, on where emphasis, and therefore investment, and hopefully success lies gives a realtime ...
