Patients of Buffalo-area hospitals generally are about as content with their care here as patients at hospitals across the country, according to a survey released by a coalition of area business and health care leaders.

Most area facilities were found to provide medical and surgical care that, according to patient perception, was on par with national averages, the study of 14 hospitals by the Niagara Health Quality Coalition indicated. Just two exceeded national averages: Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in the general. medical care area, and Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, for overall surgical care.
