LAS VEGAS _ Theatrical props are not unusual at boxing news conferences, but a couple of added features went beyond the norm at Wednesday's final media session with Hasim Rahman and Lennox Lewis, who will fight for the heavyweight title Saturday night.
Promoter Don King's rambling rhetoric at the dais was certainly not new. Ex-champion Lewis and Rahman, who deposed of Lewis in a stunning upset knockout April 22, may have been seated a bit farther apart than usual, about 30 feet, with separate podiums and microphones for each.
But the oddest additions were black metal railings and two security guards stationed in the expanse between the two heavyweights. …
