America West Holdings, the parent company of America West Airlines and The Leisure Co., Wednesday reported a third-quarter net loss of $31.7 million, or 94 cents per share, due to a drop in passenger traffic following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

For the same period a year ago, America West reported net income of $1.3 million, or 4 cents per share.
