The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation that would enable 20 Small Business Development Centers around the country to provide regulatory compliance training and counseling.

If the pilot program is, successful, it could be expended to all 1,000 Small Business Development Centers, which are funded by the Small Business Administration along with local and state partners.

Bill sponsor Rep. John Sweeney, R-N.Y., says the legislation is "just the start in providing regulatory assistance to small businesses in this country."
