Shea's Performing Arts Center is building a little cushion into its latest capital campaign.
The landmark downtown Buffalo theater is embarking on a $4.5 million capital campaign that it hopes will generate at least $1 million from the selling of name plates on seats planned for the performing arts center; The old seats are scheduled to be replaced next summer.
The seat name plates will range in price from $250 to $1,000, depending on location. Potentially, the seat naming portion of the campaign could raise more than $2 million, but Shea's officials think the $1 million mark is a more realistic goal.
