As the government readies plans to evacuate thousands of overseas Filipino workers in some Middle East countries, those who do not have proper documents might not be that lucky.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said it would be difficult to help "undocumented" Filipinos staying in countries most likely to be affected by a war in Afghanistan. Making the problem worse, the DFA noted, is that a large part of the estimated 1.4 million OFWs in the Middle East are undocumented.
