House set to probe banks' inability.

The House committee on agrarian reform is set to investigate the alleged failure of banking institutions to allocate part of their loanable funds to agrarian reform beneficiaries.

Quririno Rep. Junie E. Cua filed House Resolution no. 208 calling for a congressional probe into banking institutions' non-compliance with Presidential Decree no. 717 which provides for an agrarian reform credit and financing system for agrarian reform beneficiaries.

Under PD no. 717, all government and private banking institutions should set aside at least 25% of their loanable funds for agricultural credit in general, of which 10% of the funds should be allotted for agrarian …
