While more than nine out of 10 stroke victims survive an attack, the bad news is more than half of the survivors could no longer lead normal lives.

Thus, surviving a stroke is only half the battle of getting back on the road to a healthy lifestyle, medical specialists said. A sound rehabilitation program is considered the important next step following a successful recovery from stroke.

The importance of rehabilitation is well-captured by a saying in the medical community that heart attack patients are many times better off than stroke patients. Whereas patients who recover from an attack have their whole being intact, not so in the case of stroke patients. …
