STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE KOLKATA, Nov. 2. The government may see it as a teething problem, but hospitals in the city had a tough time following the government's diktats today.

The situation was extremely chaotic because only some doctors in the city's medical colleges stayed back for the extended outdoor duty while their colleagues were happy to play truant and leave when it suited them. Only a handful of us stayed till 2 p.m. to handle the extra load. Most of the doctors did not pay any heed to the instructions, complained a doctor at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital.
