2001 NOV 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Opticon Medical, Inc. (OPMI) reported on the completed participation of the first patients enrolled in its previously announced clinical study of the Option-vf urinary catheter for short-term urinary management.
"Initial results suggest that the product is clinically effective and that patient tolerance may be more favorable than expected," said Dr. Barry Jarnagin, clinical investigator at Vanderbilt University and Williamson Medical Centers, both in greater Nashville, Tennessee. "The relative benefits of the Opticon device as compared with traditional Foley catheters appear to be immediately recognized by both patients and clinical staff."
