X-Ray Optical Systems Inc. is making lenses that one day could go to Mars.

But closer to home, XOS President David Gibson said the company has to look for a new headquarters. The company is looking at sites throughout the region as well as out of state. One location that is being considered is in Utah.

XOS is the first company to come out of the state University at Albany's incubator--it was located in the basement of the university's physics building--and is the only company in the world that makes certain X-ray optics used in evaluating such materials as steel, cement, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals, Gibson said.
