While many readers continued to censure the United States for its Mideast policy, some took other nations to task for the events of Sept. 11. "Saudi Arabia is the root of Islamic terrorism," said one reader. "Pakistan is the creator of the Taliban," another declared. A third asserted that "camps in Pakistan nurtured Osama bin Laden." Others pointed out the hypocrisy of bin Laden's "holy war" against the United States. As one said, "Islam strictly forbids targeting innocent people."
