India: Ravi Jain venture with Mohan Meakins off.

BANGALORE, Oct. 30. LIQUOR major Mohan Meakins Ltd's (MML) marketing joint venture with Mr Ravi Jain, a strategic ally of the UB group, has fallen flat with the latter reportedly withdrawing from the alliance floated earlier this year.

The much talked about alliance collapsed due to the perceived differences in the long-term strategies of both parties. "I was not interested in any short-term arrangement. The deal lacked the 'meeting of minds' which is necessary for a long lasting alliance," Mr Ravi Jain, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Millennium Alcobev Ltd, a UB group associate, told Business Line.
