Akzo Nobel of Holland, now restructured under three units as Organon, Intervet and Diosynth, is aiming to compete with major pharmaceutical companies and reach a growth rate of more than 10% during 2001.

Pharmaceuticals are forecast to account for more than 50% of group earnings during 2001 compared to 47% during 2000.
