KOLKATA, Oct. 24. A FORMAL beginning to privatise some activities of state- owned coal companies' non-mining activities was made by the Union Mines and Minerals Minister, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan, here when he inaugurated the South Eastern Coalfields Ltd's (SECL) multi- speciality hospital at Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.

Though the building and other infrastructure of the hospital was set up by the SECL, the facility will now be run and managed by the 'Apollo Group'. SECL has entered into a turnkey contract with the Apollo Group for running the hospital on professional lines, the name of the hospital being Multi-Speciality Apollo Hospital.
