Swiss-based Zurich Financial Services Group, which employs 1,200 people in Baltimore, says it's hurting a lot more than it initially expected from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

zurich, which operates its insurance business in Baltimore under the Zurich North America (www.zurichna.com) name, now says that it expects between $700 million and $900 million in pretax losses from insurance and reinsurance property and casualty claims from the attacks. The company brings in about $55 billion in annual premiums.
