Siemens Gets Quality Leadership Award For Digital Mammography System.(2001 Market Engineering Product Quality Leadership Award given to Siemens Medical Solutions' Opdima small-field digital mammography system)
2001 OCT 25 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Siemens Medical Solutions has been awarded the 2001 Market Engineering Product Quality Leadership Award for its Opdima small-field digital mammography system, from Frost & Sullivan.
According to market information from Frost & Sullivan, Opdima has the largest field of view of any small-field digital mammography system on the market. It also offers the smallest effective pixel size and the highest spatial resolution among the available digital mammography products.
"There is no doubt that small-field digital systems have revolutionized the field of minimally invasive breast biopsy, and the Opdima system has played a very prominent role in this," said Antonio Garcia, Frost & Sullivan industry research analyst. "Other digital breast biopsy systems were already available when Siemens brought the Opdima to market in 1997, but Siemens really pushed the envelope in terms of image quality, field of view, and processing speed.
