2001 OCT 25 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Ice skating legend and breast cancer survivor Peggy Fleming will join forces with Atairgin Technologies, Inc. at the 10th Anniversary Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Orange County Race for the Cure.
The annual event, held September 23, 2001, in Newport Beach, California, provides both Fleming and Team Atairgin with an opportunity to help raise money and awareness to eradicate breast cancer.
"Atairgin is leading the way toward new technology for early detection of ovarian and breast cancer," said Fleming. "I'm a breast cancer survivor, and I know how critically important early detection is for these terrible diseases. I'm very proud to be part of this event and I applaud Atairgin's efforts and everyone's hard work as we race towards a cure."
Patrick Walsh, Atairgin, said, "Atairgin is steadfastly dedicated to developing diagnostic tests that will aid in the fight in ovarian and breast disease. We appreciate Fleming's support and incredible, motivating spirit that will help us achieve our goal."
Atairgin's early research demonstrated that levels of certain bioactive lipids found in the body become elevated in the blood of ovarian cancer patients.
