2001 OCT 18 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Intelligent Systems Software Inc. (ISSI), developer of computer aided detection (CAD) imaging technology for mammography, has entered into an agreement with Instrumentarium Imaging Inc. to exclusively distribute the new ISSI MammoReader in the United States, upon its approval by the FDA, which is currently reviewing it.
"Leveraging Instrumentarium Imaging's well-established U.S. mammography distribution channels will allow us to focus on our core competency - developing cutting-edge CAD imaging solutions," announced ISSI CEO W. Kip Speyer.
ISSI's clinical studies, currently undergoing FDA review, show the promise of improving detection of breast cancer in women undergoing screening mammography and could benefit as many as 23,000 women for every 100,000 diagnosed with the disease.
