2001 OCT 17 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Aventis Pasteur, the nation's leading supplier of influenza vaccine, says it anticipates shipping all influenza vaccine orders to customers by the end of November (2001).
Smaller customers were scheduled to receive all their order in September and larger customers would receive up to half their orders, which would then be completed in October or November, the company said.
"We are pleased that all Aventis Pasteur customers will receive influenza vaccine [in September or October] with many receiving complete orders, allowing them to prioritize immunization of high risk persons, including the elderly and chronically ill, before the influenza season begins,'' said Wayne Pisano, senior vice president, marketing and sales at Aventis Pasteur.
The company's smaller customers include office-based physicians, hospitals and nursing homes, which had placed orders for relatively small numbers of doses of Fluzone, Influenza Virus Vaccine USP.
