LOCAL companies can expect to save 15 to 20 per cent of the costs of running their information technology departments by outsourcing to IBM Malaysia.

According to IBM Global Services Malaysia general manager for outsourcing Chai Cheng Sheng, the Malaysian market is opening up for outsourcing services with the deregulation of the financial institutions.

He added that it is sometimes much cheaper for companies to outsource their IT requirements to companies like IBM which have the capability and size rather than build up their individual IT departments from scratch.
