What made some sense in office design 50, even 20, years ago makes very little sense today. With the evolution of technology, office design must respond to radically new issues.

One of the questions we must now answer is this: Why do companies even need to be housed in office buildings? If we have the ability to communicate and access information from anywhere at anytime and if interaction is possible via the Internet and wireless technology, why aren't we all working from the beach instead of in a gray cubical?

Well, companies are made of people aligned with same the goals, and those goals are kept viable through meaningful interaction -- largely, a type of interaction that can be fostered only through personal, social engagement.
