ESPN's first daily talk show in Washington will originate from District-based production house Atlantic Video.
Atlantic and the cable sports network have signed a two-year, multimillion dollar contract with options for renewal. Atlantic expects to begin Sept. 24 installing the set, which is being built in New York, in time for the live program's debut Oct. 15.
"For us, it's huge," says Todd Mason, president of Atlantic (www.atlanticvideo.com). "And it brings another big network to town. As a result, we'll be hiring 20 people and buying more equipment."
