Tenet hospitals cutting ties with Humana.(Brief Article)

Tenet Health Systems is terminating contracts with Humana Health Care Plans, a move that will impact a portion of Humana's 160,000 local members.

As a result of the cancellation, Humana's Houston members will no longer have insured access to Tenet's five hospitals in Houston.

The 2,000 members who currently use Tenet hospitals will be directly affected, says Ross McLerran, manager of media relations in Texas for Humana.

Doug Bowling, regional director of development for Tenet's Texas operations, confirmed that as of Oct. 2, the Tenet hospitals in Houston will no longer participate in Humana insurance products as a result of ongoing administrative issues and unresolved payment disputes.
