Piloting a Buick Rendezvous through South America ought to be a piece of cake for Pat Brooks, considering his last rally took him around the world.
``That one took us within 20 miles of the Afghanistan border,'' said Brooks. ``I don't think you'd even be able to go there now.''
Brooks and co-driver Kevin Clemens, a freelance writer who is also a veteran rally driver, were among 50 entrants who planned to set out Oct. 6 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on a 55-day, 15,000-mile tour called the ``Inca Trail 4x4 Adventure Drive.''
The trip will take them high into the Andes in Bolivia, through Peru, Chile and by ferry across the Strait of Magellan to Tierra del Fuego and
