GARLIC - During the first six months of 2001, the U.S. imported 18.4 million pounds of dried Garlic, approximately 2.0 million pounds more than what was imported the same period last year. During the same period, imports of Garlic powder were virtually unchanged from a year earlier at 5.6 million pounds. Almost all of the dried Garlic and Garlic powder originated from China.
The International Trade Administration is conducting a new shipper review and an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on fresh garlic from China. For more, see PRODUCE.
